The Art of Dying and Living Conference in March

I’ve been invited again to speak at this august panel via Tibet House.

The above is the link to use if you’re interested in attending. My talk is going to be on March 26

Time: 4–5:30pm EASTERN STANDARD TIME

Theme: After Death Practices

Just want to point out, anyone who knows me or the research I’ve been doing knows that the word “death” is problematic, since it’s a descriptive I don’t use. It implies things “stop” or “end.” Just like pulling the plug of a stereo receiver out of the wall doesn’t “stop” or “end” music — it does mean the end of that particular circuitry.

Time for an upgrade perhaps.

The other part of the talk beyond pointing out that no one dies, is what happens after that. And people report often that we take a trip to meet with our Council. Everyone has one — and as an experiment recently, I took twenty people, half of whom had never met me or read any of my work, and did a simple guided meditation with them.

PICTURE YOURSELF IN A BOAT ON A RIVER

and we did that. And in a few minutes I asked them to speak with their council members…
